Tragic Night in New Haven: 17-Year-Old Killed in Late-Night Shooting. Tuesday night, a shooting on Shelton Avenue in New Haven claimed the life of a 17-year-old.
According to the police department, the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. close to Huntington Street.
The teenager was shot in the road, according to Police Chief Karl Jacobson. After being brought to the hospital, he passed away.
The identity of the 17-year-old is currently unknown. According to Jacobson, the teenager who was killed tonight was acquainted with Uzziah Shell, 16, who was shot and killed two weeks ago in broad daylight.
It comes after another fatal shooting occurred Monday afternoon in a George Street parking lot.
According to the police chief, the 17-year-old attended New Haven’s Riverside Academy. Police said pupils will have access to grief counseling, and the school administrator has been informed.
