Man Arrested in Viral Attack After Ravens Game to Stay in Jail Until Trial and Judge Decides

Man Arrested in Viral Attack After Ravens Game to Stay in Jail Until Trial and Judge Decides. BALTIMORE — According to The Baltimore Banner, Jack Callis, a 24-year-old Baltimore Ravens supporter who was accused of attacking Washington Commanders supporters in Federal Hill on October 13, will stay behind bars pending his trial.

Police identified Callis as the suspect after a video of the attack went viral on social media.

Callis, who acknowledged using cocaine every day for the previous four years, was again denied bail on Tuesday.

In October, the judge had previously decided to release Callis into a drug and alcohol treatment program while he awaited trial, if the defense could locate a suitable facility.

The court stated on Tuesday that she did not believe Callis’ substance addiction condition could be adequately addressed by being released to outpatient care.

According to the Baltimore Banner, Judge Yolanda A. Tanner stated, “Today was just a catfight instead of using the time to tell me what’s new and what’s available.” “I’m just incredibly disappointed in what was presented by counsel.”

Callis faces three counts of second-degree assault, which has a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison, and one count of first-degree assault.

According to investigators, he assaulted the two guys donning Commanders jerseys while sporting a Baltimore Ravens jersey in a widely shared video. On October 15, he turned himself in to the police.

On February 3, 2025, Callis is scheduled to appear in court.

The viral attack

Following the Ravens’ victory over the Commanders in Baltimore, the attack took place at Federal Hill, close to Cross Street Market.

According to the documents, the pictures that went viral on social media depicted Callis’s second contact with the victims.

Callis had previously brutally battered them, according to the prosecution, and they had lost personal items including a wallet and phone. When they returned to get those things, prosecutors claim a video captured him assaulting them once more.

After being rendered unconscious, one victim was later found to have suffered a concussion.

Prior trouble with the law

WJZ found out in court that Callis acknowledged using cocaine every day for the previous four years, including the day of the assault.

In November 2021, he beat a guy senseless in the middle of York Road in Towson in what the prosecution claimed was a “alcohol-fueled” assault; he was placed on probation pending judgment.

In 2020, he was placed on probation for another attack, this time in Delaware, where the prosecution said he was intoxicated.
