Thanksgiving Tragedy Near Pickerington: One Victim Identified in Fatal Crash. Columbus police knew one of the two victims killed in a collision near Pickerington late on Thanksgiving morning.

At 11:23 a.m., local police received the initial report of a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Gender Road and Abbey Trails Drive.

According to a Columbus police report, Cofield Brown, 37, lost his life after his white Honda Accord collided with an unidentified driver’s gray Chevrolet Cruze.

Brown was approaching the Abbey Trails Drive crossing as he continued south on Gender Road. The cops were unable to determine the direction of the unidentified vehicle.

Columbus Division of Fire paramedics transported Brown to Mount Carmel East Hospital. There, he was pronounced dead around 11:59 a.m.

According to the police, the unidentified driver passed away instantly.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
