Fire Damages Bay Area Mushroom Farm Warehouse. A significant setback for one of the Bay Area’s biggest mushroom farms.

About half of Monterey Mushrooms’ 2,000-square-foot facility in Morgan Hill was damaged by fire on Friday.

To get to the fire, firefighters had to tear down a wall. They succeeded in saving the other half of the structure.

The cause has not yet been announced.

The biggest mushroom grower in North America is Monterey Mushrooms. It asserts that it is credited with making the portabella popular.
