LAS VEGAS — Nevada State Police claimed they discovered an open bottle of whiskey under the seat of a woman accused of driving the wrong way on a Las Vegas freeway and murdering her passenger, according to records acquired by 8 News Now.
Alyssa Scott, 21, faces accusations of DUI resulting in death and dangerous driving, according to records.
On October 25, Scott collided with another car on the interstate near Boulder Highway, according to authorities. Marilyn Rodriguez, Scott’s passenger, perished in the crash. Another driver was injured. The incident caused a section of the road to be closed for many hours.
Troopers reported receiving a call about a wrong-way driver on the interstate near Charleston Boulevard at approximately 2:48 a.m. At 2:52 a.m., dispatchers learned that the driver had collided with another vehicle farther south.
According to papers, witnesses reported Scott smelling of alcohol after the crash.
While investigating the crash, investigators discovered an open bottle of whiskey under Scott’s car’s driver’s seat, according to papers.
Scott remained in prison at the Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday, and she was being held without bond.
