Cold Front Sweeps Bay Area, Bringing Rain, Snow, and Cooler Temperatures to Northern California

Along with much-needed rain, a cold front moved through the Bay Area on Monday evening, bringing a mix of rain and snow. It rained 1.28 inches on Mount Tamalpais, and some wet snowflakes were seen on Chews Ridge, which is above Big Sur and has snow levels of about 7,200 feet.

Wet weather is expected to stick around until midnight, but by Tuesday morning, it will be drier. But overnight it will probably be foggy and cooler because it just rained and there is still some wetness in the air. Temperatures could drop below freezing in inland places, which could lead to frost.

Looking ahead, it will rain even more later this week. Showers are expected from Wednesday through Saturday, and then more rain will fall into next week.
