24-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot at North Suburban Wheeling Bar Overnight, Police Report

WHEELING, Ill. — Authorities say a 24-year-old man died after being shot during a fight at a bar in the north suburban area of Wheeling overnight.

According to a post on the Wheeling Police and Fire Departments Facebook page, police were called to the Social Bar and Grill at 401 East Dundee Road in Wheeling, which is in the Riverside Shopping Plaza, just after 2 a.m. Sunday because of a report of a shooting.

Police say that when they got there, they found a 24-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to a nearby hospital right away and declared dead there.

According to police, there was a fight before the shooting, which was seen by witnesses. The suspect then left the scene.

There were no other injuries recorded.
