A man is being charged with making a threat to hit a Highmark Health worker with a cane.
Records show that Frederick B. Jackson, 67, went into West Penn Hospital on Tuesday and walked right past the greeter, who he needed to talk to about his stay.
When a Highmark Health Police Officer saw this, they went after him. Jackson was asked more than once by the cop where he was going. Police say Jackson swore at the officer and told him he didn’t need to say where he was going.
He could be stopped by the police officer, who asked him again where he was going. Jackson is said to have run into the cop and refused to talk to her.
Jackson is said to have picked up his cane, held it like a baseball bat, and made like he was going to hit the cop with it after this conversation.
Someone saw him do this and quickly grabbed the cane before he could swing it. After this, Jackson was arrested.
Aside from attempted aggravated assault, he is also charged with simple assault, disorderly behavior, and harassment.
