NY State Trooper Under Investigation After Guns, Drugs, and Cash Found at Home Sources

NEW YORK – The home of a New York State trooper was searched and drugs and cash were discovered. This is because the officer says he was shot during a traffic stop on the Southern State Parkway, which was first reported by PIX11 News on Thursday.

The Nassau County District Attorney said that Trooper Thomas Mascia, who is 27 years old, has been suspended without pay while his story is being looked into because it is “inconsistent.”

Authorities are looking into whether he lied about what happened and whether he hurt himself, according to reports. As part of their investigation, cops searched Mascia’s home in West Hempstead for 19 hours. He lives there with his parents.

A source told PIX11 News that police found drugs and almost $1 million in cash. A source said that several guns were also taken from the house.

A source said that the weapons are being put through ballistic tests to see if any of them were used in the killing.

At first, Mascia was praised as a hero when he said he saw a car pulled over on the highway and thought it was a handicapped driver. He was then shot as he approached the car.

After some time, the search for the driver was called off, and the trooper’s story was called into question.

Other troops gave Mascia a hero’s welcome when he got out of Nassau University Medical Center, where he had been getting treatment for his leg wound.

After that, he was suspended without pay, and his service weapon and badge were taken away. It is said that the study is “very large-scale and far-reaching.”

The police officer is the son of Thomas Mascia Sr., who used to work with NYPD officer Michael Dowd and got 12 years in jail for selling drugs and robbing drug dealers.

Jeffrey Lichtman, the younger Mascia’s lawyer, said, “For five days he was loved, and now there are all sorts of leaks and lies” about his client, which he called a shame.
