SPARTANBURG, S.C. – AFL, a company that makes fiber optics, said it would give $1 million to help with the rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Helene.
The gift will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse at a time when communities are still trying to get back on their feet after the terrible effects.
The funds will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization that helps people in need in emergencies. The organization’s goal is to provide long-term support to places that have been hit hardest by storm damage.
“It’s part of our culture to help the places where we live and work.” We feel bad for those who have been hurt by Hurricane Helene, and we are trying to help our friends, family, and coworkers through these hard times, said Jaxon Lang, President and CEO of the AFL, in a statement.
Additionally, the company made $60,000 by giving to both Samaritan’s Purse and the American Red Cross. The company has promised to match these donations dollar for dollar, making the effect of giving even bigger.
Lang said, “We are thankful to our customers and employees for making it possible for AFL to help with these efforts financially. We are also thankful to our manufacturing, product, and sales teams for helping electric utility companies get the conductor hardware and cable they need to rebuild and restore the Electric Grid.”
