RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A person in the Randolph County Detention Center has been charged with attacking a police officer on Friday.
A news statement said that David James Alexandro Rosales, 28, of Randleman, hit an officer and was charged with felony assault causing physical harm to a detention employee.
Rosell was not given a bond. He went to court on Monday.
Police say that before he did that, he crashed his roommate’s car into a car that his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were in.
Based on a crash report from the Asheboro Police Department at the time, Rosales was driving a Hyundai that Katie Marie Bishop owned. It looks like the Hyundai hit the victim’s Honda from the back right corner and then hit it again on the passenger side.
Rosales was charged with threatening to kill someone with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a woman, making threats, and damage to personal property.
It was reported by the Randleman Police Department that Rosales told police that he had killed Katie Bishop and that her body was in a room in the apartment where the two of them lived. Then, the Asheboro Police Department asked the Randleman Police Department to help them find Bishop.
Randleman police officers went to Reece Court, but no one answered the door. They broke in through a window because no one was there. As Rosales had said, Bishop’s body was found in a room by police. At first glance, police say it looks like Bishop was cut and hit with something hard.
There was no reason given, and all that was known about Rosales and Bishop’s connection is that they lived together.
