The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said that a 51-year-old guy from Wisconsin was arrested on several charges after driving over 100 miles per hour and leaving the scene of an accident.
The statement says that police were told about an accident involving two cars on Highway 17 N. They said the suspect vehicle hit them while trying to pass in an area where cars weren’t supposed to be going that way. The suspect vehicle then hit them again while they were stopped.
When deputies from Oneida County arrived, they saw the suspect’s car driving away from the scene. They then started chasing it. Daniel Thunder of Neopit was driving the suspect car, which allegedly sped off at over 100 miles per hour while breaking several traffic laws.
People say Thunder ignored stop signs and other traffic lights by driving in the wrong direction and passing on the right. The news release also said that Thunder went onto Oneida Street and then Highway 8 W, where a deputy from Oneida County used a pursuit intervention method to stop the car.
Thunder was finally caught without any problems after other deputies rammed the suspect car.
