Heavy Snow and Winter Weather Expected Across California and Colorado

Heavy Snow and Winter Weather Expected Across California and Colorado

The West will get hit by a strong upper-level trough that will bring a cold front to the Rockies and Southwest.

Alerts for winter weather, storms, and wind have been sent out from Montana to New Mexico as the front passes.

There will be snow in the mountains, and by Thursday morning, there should be a lot of it in the Four Corners area. Temperatures will drop dramatically because of the arctic air. Overnight, they will hit single digits in some places and the 30s and 40s in valleys.

Also, dry conditions and strong winds will make wildfires more likely in some parts of California. This has led to red flag warnings and critical fire conditions in the south, especially around Santa Clarita.

People are being told to get ready for cold weather and a higher risk of fire.
