Two adults and a child were killed in a helicopter crash in southwest Louisiana. The Federal Aviation Administration is looking into what happened.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory said that the crash happened Friday night in the town of Iowa. Local police, firemen, and the Louisiana State Police all came to the scene.

An FAA report says that at 9 p.m., a Robinson R44 chopper crashed on a rural street in the town, which is about 60 miles west of Lafayette and close to Lake Charles.

FBI spokesman Rick Breitenfeldt told USA TODAY on Monday morning that there were three people on board.
