When there is a drought, something that looks good may become a problem when it floods because the dry soil can’t soak up the water fast enough. We have flood watches out for New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma because of the heavy thunderstorms that are predicted.
There is also a chance that this will have severe weather. There is a chance of embedded severe weather in parts of eastern New Mexico, the Texas panhandle, northeast Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Watch out for the chance of harmful winds, big hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain.
