FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Court records show that a man from Fayetteville is suspected of recording a woman at the Northwest Arkansas Mall through a bathroom stall.
Video voyeurism and abuse charges were brought against 22-year-old Jasper McCoy on October 27.
At around 2 p.m. on October 27, the Fayetteville Police Department got a call from a woman saying she was being followed at a department store in Northwest Arkansas Mall. An officer went to the scene and found out what was going on.
When the woman went into the bathroom, she saw someone in the stall next door wearing clothes and shoes for guys, she told the police.
Then, she said, someone with a cellphone pointed it at her from under the stall.
Another woman and her child were coming in as the woman left the bathroom. They say the woman told them what happened. The other woman brought her child into the bathroom and asked if there was a guy there.
The report said that McCoy tried to leave the bathroom by walking out of the stall, but two men stopped him and pinned him against the wall.
Video from inside the store showed McCoy going into the bathroom behind the person who called the cops on him. One of the guys who stopped McCoy took a video of the suspect leaving the bathroom as he tried to leave.
The report says that when the officer talked to McCoy, he refused to answer any questions.
He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $25,000 bail. His court date is November 25, 2018.
