Two Dead, Two Injured in Shooting Following Fight Escalation, Corpus Christi Police Report

Corpus Christi police say two men were killed and two others were hurt early Sunday morning after several shots were fired outside of a club in the 5400 block of South Staples Street.

A 20-year-old Hispanic man and a 20-year-old Black man were found dead from gunshot wounds when police arrived at the scene at 2:37 a.m., according to a news statement from the Corpus Christi Police Department.

A Hispanic man aged 26 and a Hispanic man aged 31 were the other two victims. They went to nearby hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The shooting happened after two guys got into a fight in the parking lot, according to a news release. Robbery and murder detectives were called to the scene to look into what happened.

The police don’t think this was a random act of violence.

There is an open investigation going on right now. Detectives asked people who were at the club during the killing and have information or video to share to call them at 361-886-2840.
