This week, much-needed rain is expected because of a change in the weather trend that is going to North Texas. As the cold front moves in, there are several weather alerts for this week.
There will be strong winds from 35 mph to 40 mph on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, a strong upper-level trough will move into the western part of the United States. The low pressure to the west and the high pressure to the southeast are different from each other. This makes the pressure shift tighter, which is what caused the strong winds on Tuesday. In other words, now is the time to get Halloween preparations.
A surface front moves into North Texas on Wednesday as the trough moves northeast. Storms that are strong to severe could form ahead of and during the frontal passage. A small chance of severe storms happening on Wednesday is seen by the storm prediction center. The storms could bring big hail and strong winds.
According to the high-resolution GRAF model, most of the day will be cloudy with a few showers here and there. Then, late Wednesday into Thursday, a line of storms will move in.
The weather alert for Thursday is mostly for the morning when the front will pass through and cooler weather will start to come in. What’s different is when it rains. Monday morning, trick-or-treat time, the weather should be mostly dry. It will be cooler during the day and in the late afternoon.
As we get closer to the weekend, weather alerts could be sent out for more rain. The weather models don’t all agree on what the rain will do, but it looks like we might get some much-needed rain this weekend.
