Long Island Woman is Accused of Hitting Someone on Purpose With Her Car Cops

SUFFOLK COUNTY – Police say that a woman from Long Island hit someone with her car on purpose on Saturday morning.

At 3:40 a.m., someone called 911 and asked for help. Police say two women got into a fight in the parking lot of a Chinese restaurant in North Bellport at 1733 Montauk Highway.

While they were fighting, Philomena Mistretta, 51, got in her 2004 Toyota Sieena and hit the victim on purpose. Police say the 63-year-old victim was taken to Long Island Community Hospital with major wounds.

It wasn’t immediately clear what kinds of injuries the person had.

Mistretta was caught and charged with attack in the first degree. She will be held overnight in jail. Police said that she will be formally charged on Sunday.
