Hartford Man Charged with Armed Robbery of Waterbury Clothing Store

WATERBURY, Conn. — Police say a man from Waterbury with a criminal record robbed a clothing shop with a gun, threatened employees, and hit one of them.

Jose Rivera-Gonzalez, 52, from Hartford, has been charged with robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, theft in the fifth degree, and illegal possession of a firearm or ammunition. He has a $75,000 bond and is being held.

He stole from Snipes on October 15, according to the police. His home was searched on Wednesday, and police found proof that linked him to the crime. He was then arrested.

He has been charged with stealing, kidnapping, and other crimes in the past. He was also charged with robbing a bank in Waterbury in 2013.
