Three Kids Who Were Supposedly Kidnapped in Kentucky Were Found in Delaware

HARTLY, DE – The Delaware State Police found and arrested two women who were wanted in Kentucky for allegedly taking three children earlier this month.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were first told on October 7 at about 6:30 p.m. that two family members who did not have custody of the children had taken them. The police also found out that the kids had been taken out of Kentucky.

Police say that their Crimes Against Children Detectives found the car that the children were reportedly taken in with the help of technology and other law enforcement agencies.

In the late evening, Delaware State Police say they pulled over the car on Arthursville Road near Hartly. The three kids were found and are safe. Police in Lexington say that Kolene Shahan, 50, and Ashley Brown, 29, were both arrested and charged with three counts of kidnapping in the first degree.

In a statement released Monday, Lexington police said, “The Lexington Police Department would like to thank the Delaware State Police and all the other law enforcement partners who helped with the investigation.”
