Soon, Alabama’s newest Costco store will be open for business.
The superstore just recently said that its Madison location on Highway 72 will open on November 15. It will have a drugstore and a tire service center. It is now possible to buy gas at the Madison Costco.
At 8094 Hwy. 72 West, the Costco site is next to Jack Clift Boulevard and inside the big mixed-use Clift Farm development. The boulevard is the main entrance to the Clift Farm development, which has been slowly growing in recent years with more and more homes and businesses being built.
Lots of people in North Alabama want a second Costco to help the famous one on Memorial Parkway north of University Drive handle more customers. People from all over North Alabama and Middle Tennessee go to that store.
The Costco project is one of the most pricey ones going on in the Huntsville area right now.
Southern Exposure Information says that two building permits worth a total of $19 million were first given out in July.
One of the permits was given for a $17.6 million building that is 172,327 square feet. The builder is named Southeast Industrial, LLC. The company has a number of projects, some of which are Costco stores.
The second permit was given for a building that is 8,127 square feet and is worth $1.8 million. Jones Covey Group, a company that deals in gas stations, was given the permit.
