ELM GROVE, Wis.— Authorities from the Elm Grove Police Department said that a woman was arrested for OWI and that she will also be charged with having a gun while drunk.
The 32-year-old woman from Milwaukee was caught around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday after she was seen slumped over the steering wheel of a stopped car in the 2000 Block of Hollyhock Lane.
The woman failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which led to her arrest for her first OWI crime.
When the car was searched some more, a loaded handgun was found within her reach. She said no to a chemistry test in her blood.
She got tickets from the city for OWI-1st and working after suspension. The charge of having a gun is being sent to the office of the Waukesha County District Attorney.
