Ida County Fair 2025: Schedule, Events & Highlights

The Ida County Fair in Ida Grove, Iowa will run from July 15–20, 2025, at the Ida County Fairgrounds (2340 US‑59, Ida Grove, IA 51445). Expect a week full of agricultural showcases, family fun, and community tradition.

  • Horse Show — Main spectator event kicking off at 4 p.m. on July 15
  • Livestock Judging & Weigh-ins
    • Wednesday, July 16: 4‑H livestock weigh-ins begin early morning
    • Multiple shows throughout the week including sheep, goats, beef, poultry, swine, and combined showmanship
  • Clover Kids Pet & Stuffed Animal Show — July 16 at 12 p.m.
  • 4‑H Dog & Pet Show — Follows the pet show at 12:30 p.m. on July 16
  • Open Dog Show — Immediately after the 4‑H Dog & Pet Show

  • Overall Showmanship: July 20 at 12 p.m.

  • Clover Kids Static Judging (non-animal) — July 15, starting at 8 a.m.
  • 4‑H Family Night & Queen Contest — July 16 at 6 p.m.
  • Ag Olympics & Bacon Buddies:
    • Ag Olympics on July 20 at 2 p.m.
    • Bacon Buddies special activity during fair week
  • Post-Fair Cleanup & Meetings:
    • Cleanup begins July 22 at 9 a.m., followed by superintendent meeting on July 24 at 6 p.m.

Fair Participation Details

  • Entries Deadline: June 30 for fair entries and YQCA certification
  • Entry Forms & Resources: Available through Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Ida County, including static exhibit forms and livestock forms
  • Premiums & Awards: Distributed daily beginning July 16
  • Quester Heritage Award and extra premiums for clothing and communication categories available

Food & Vendor Highlights

  • Farm Bureau Supper: Hot meal served Wednesday from 5–7 p.m.
  • Food Vendors & Concession Stands: Available daily across fairgrounds
  • Static Exhibit Building: Showcases crafts, flowers, photography, and more
