A 40-year-old lady passed away on Saturday while being held by the Brookline Police Department, and an investigation is currently underway.
Around 2:30 p.m., a Brookline police officer discovered the woman unconscious but breathing, according to a statement from Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey. Morrissey did not identify the woman or provide an explanation for her presence at the station, while acknowledging that she was in police custody at the time.
In dispatch dispatches captured by Broadcastify.com, a first responder stated, “The party is not responding to our trying to get her to wake up.”
According to Morrissey, cops tried to revive the woman with assistance from Coastal Ambulance and Brookline fire authorities. According to the DA, she was taken to a neighboring hospital and declared dead just before 3:30 p.m.
According to Morrissey, the woman’s body showed no overt indications of trauma. He stated that an autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to ascertain the cause and manner of her death.
The woman’s death is being investigated by detectives from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the DA’s office. The DA’s office, which is in charge of the investigation, received more questions from Brookline police.
