South Philly Nightclub Shooting leaves 8 Hurt; Police investigating Multiple Shooters

Eight people were injured early Saturday morning after gunfire erupted at a South Philadelphia nightclub, following an argument that escalated into violence, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 4 a.m. at the 7 Elements Restaurant, Bar and Lounge, located on 11th Street between Washington Avenue and Ellsworth Street, as some patrons were still celebrating the Fourth of July holiday.

What Happened

According to Philadelphia Police, an argument broke out outside the club and quickly turned into a physical altercation involving knives. Security personnel attempted to break up the fight, but the situation escalated further when shots were fired on the balcony outside the second-floor business inside Wing Phat Plaza.

Authorities believe there may have been multiple shooters, though the exact number is still under investigation. One of the security guards on duty admitted to firing a weapon during the incident.

Victims and Injuries

A total of five men and three women, ranging in age from 25 to 43, were injured in the shooting. Most of the injuries were gunshot wounds to the victims’ arms and legs. Fortunately, all victims are expected to survive, and they remain in stable condition.

Two of those injured were working as security guards at the time.

Initially, police reported that 11 people had been injured, but later clarified that some individuals were counted twice, confirming the total number of victims as eight.

Investigation Ongoing

Responding officers arrived on the scene after reports of a shooting and found at least three victims with gunshot wounds. Additional victims were later discovered at nearby hospitals, having transported themselves for treatment.

Investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage to determine the total number of shooters involved and to identify suspects.

The investigation remains active. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
