Early Risers is a childcare center for children ages eight weeks to six years. Although they are a non-essential business and are closed, owners Teresa Greenberg and Jason Greenberg urge everyone to appeal to state lawmakers and federal representatives to get a relief package that is directed solely at childcare centers. If childcare organizations go out of business, parents won’t be able to return to work once the pandemic is over, which will negatively impact families as well as the economy. Teresa and Jason said that one of the great things about Early Risers is the environment that they have been able to foster for the toddlers and infants. Through their childcare center, they’ve been able to witness children reach milestones, as well as see their personalities emerge. It’s the day-to-day accomplishments that give the staff and parents joy. Teresa said the impacts of COVID-19 have made her even more grateful for what teachers do since they not only provide kids with new skill sets, but they also care for children while parents are at work.
