According to a police spokesman, 8 persons were shot Monday afternoon during a “social gathering” at a home in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago, three of whom were killed.
According to Chicago Fire Department authorities, at least three victims were critically injured and one more was stabilized at a hospital.
According to Chicago Police Chief of Patrol John Hein, the shooting occurred during a social event. Shortly after 2:00 p.m., he said, police were summoned to a residence for a person who had been shot.
According to Hein, the victims—four males and four women—are between the ages of 20 and 35. “They were all men,” Hein remarked of the dead.
Two of the victims were transported to medical facilities in private automobiles, according to Hein, while the others were transported by city ambulances.
The violence’s cause and course were unknown. There was no information available concerning a suspect or suspects. According to Hein, police had already been called to the scene.
