Law enforcement officials confirmed that the dogs involved were taken into custody. Authorities told media outlets that the animals were allegedly owned by 42-year-old Thomas Sutton, who lives on property bordering the Barron family’s land on Lynwood Road.

Police emphasized that the investigation into Barron’s death is ongoing and that additional charges could still be filed depending on the outcome of the review.

The case is being investigated by the Daleville Police Department and the Dale County Sheriff’s Office.
