1. How to Get Miles the Monster
Fans of NASCAR must see this huge 46-foot-tall figure made of concrete at Dover International Speedway. Miles, who is carrying a real racecar, is the track’s mascot and a famous sight along the road.
2. A large statue of an Amish man
This statue of an Amish guy made of fiberglass is 20 feet tall and is outside of Xtreme Graphix in Dover. It was made as a mascot for the Dutch Pantry House at first, but now it’s just a fun place to take pictures.
3. The Futuro House in Milton
The Finnish architect Matti Suuronen built this future UFO-shaped prefabricated house in the late 1960s. It is located near Eagle Crest Airport and shows how retro-futuristic design can be used in the present.
4. Merman Exhibit at the Zwaanendael Museum (Lewes)
A strange preserved “merman” made from animal parts can be seen in this museum. Even though it’s obviously a fake, it’s an interesting oddity that should be looked into along with displays about Delaware’s Dutch colonial past.
5. Noah’s Ark Copy (Seaford)
The Seaford Wesleyan Church has turned its building into a copy of Noah’s Ark, complete with animal cutouts that peek out of the windows. It’s a fun draw that has Biblical roots.
6. Dr.’s Big Bag and Stethoscope (Newark)
This 20-foot-tall sculpture of a doctor’s bag with a stethoscope wrapped around it stands outside the Apex Medical Center. It is both strange and interesting.
7. Tiki Murph for Milford
A lot of tiki statues and carvings line the walls of this art store and woodworking shop by the side of the road in Delaware, making the area feel like a tropical paradise. People can watch artists work or buy one-of-a-kind items with a tiki theme.
8. Winterthur Garden for Kids (Wilmington)
This garden from a fairy tale has fun features like stone mushrooms that spray mist and a big bird’s nest that looks out over a cute cottage. It’s a magical place for families and nature fans to visit.
9. Statue of Our Lady, Queen of Peace (New Castle)
A tall statue that blends peace and grandeur, this roadside attraction gives people a peaceful and striking visual experience.
10. The Frightland Haunted Attraction is in Middletown.
Frightland is one of the wackiest places to visit in Delaware during the Halloween season. It’s known for its scary houses and figures like the Headless Horseman.
